Road Distribution
FLEXIBILITY TO MEET YOUR NEEDS
In an increasingly competitive and globalized economy, road transport is a vital production tool and thus the engine of economic development. Road freight transport is an efficient form of on-land transport, providing benefits like flexibility and reliability. When no realistic intermodal option is at hand, RB offers road distribution services to support the competitiveness of our customers.
We integrate latest technology, best practices and skilled professionals to execute our transport services efficiently, adding value by creating time and place utilities, making products available at the designated time to facilitate an accurate production scheduling to our customers.
RB disposes of a modern fleet of trucks and dry bulk trailers to cover market demand. We invest in own trucks equipped with the newest and cleanest engines, with state-of-the-art positioning and communication systems, as well as ECO driving style analysis.
Depending on customers’ requirements and the type of material handled, we have at our disposal different transport units: pneumatic pressurized dry bulk tankers, tipper chassis, Dry Van trailers, as well as specially customized containers to suit every individual need.
EXCELLENCE IN TRANSIT
Numerous technology steps have been taken to reduce the harmful emissions of road vehicles and achieve cost reductions in recent years. However, we are aware of the role that our professional drivers play to achieve these goals. RB invests in Eco-driving trainings, being one of the most cost-effective measures to reduce fuel consumption.
By training drivers to change their behavior using driver assistance and ITS systems (Intelligent Transportation Systems) in an optimal manner, emissions reductions of 5-8% are possible. In RB we make sure to keep these reductions by incentivizing drivers and ensuring regular follow ups.
SAFETY IS EVERYONE'S RESPONSIBILITY
We developed and implemented an important solution to minimize the risk that a container collapse while being tipped during the unloading process. Each trailer has interlocked sensors on both sides to ensure the correct locking of twist locks. If the sensor finds a twist lock that is not properly locked, it prevents the trailer from tipping.
Together with our customers, chemical and mining organizations, we have shared our acquired knowledge with the transport industry, in order to promote it throughout Europe and the rest of the world.
